As a hands-on engineer, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining test automation, diligently investigating failures, and collaborating closely with development and testing teams to implement effective resolutions. Furthermore, you will leverage cutting-edge AI coding tools and actively explore innovative ways to integrate AI agents into our daily engineering workflows, driving efficiency and innovation.

Key responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining robust test frameworks and tools essential for database patch validation. You will automate test execution, streamline result collection, and enhance failure detection and issue tracking across all release lines.

Investigate failures by thoroughly analyzing test results, source code, logs, and dumps. Debug complex programs within the Oracle Database server and translate customer use cases into comprehensive tests, continually improving existing test applications.

Collaborate with development, testing, and release teams to ensure seamless patch validation. Utilize AI coding tools for code exploration, test writing, refactoring, and documentation, ensuring rigorous review and testing of generated code.

Develop AI agent workflows for tasks like failure summarization, issue grouping, and linking test results to code changes or known bugs. Build connectors to enable AI agents to interact with approved test systems, diagnostic data, and issue tracking tools.

Evaluate AI workflows, ensuring traceability and engineer review of all findings before action. Track the impact of automation on test coverage, repeatability, and failure investigation timelines.

We are seeking engineers with a strong command of Python, Java, SQL, and PL/SQL, coupled with a solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming principles. Prior experience in software development, test tools, or automation is essential.

Familiarity with Perl or JavaScript is advantageous. Preferred candidates will possess a working knowledge of Oracle Database concepts, including server architecture, background processes, instances, and connectivity. Experience reading alert logs, stack dumps, or other database diagnostics is highly valued.

Experience building test harnesses, automation frameworks, or workflow tools is a plus. Candidates with prior exposure to AI coding assistants, integrating AI into software development, or working with LLMs and AI agents will find this role particularly engaging.

Demonstrated experience testing AI workflows, ensuring traceability and reviewability of results, and working across multiple operating systems and platforms are desirable attributes.
