Join our team as a Principal Data Systems Engineer, a pivotal role focused on managing the full lifecycle of product development and implementation. This position involves leading departmental and cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of new and existing company products.

You will be responsible for defining project schedules, meticulously monitoring budgets and expenditures, and overseeing projects from their inception through to final delivery. Your role will involve orchestrating interdepartmental activities to guarantee project completion aligns with timelines and budget constraints. Additionally, you will guide and oversee the work of systems analysis and program staff, offering essential technical support and direction.

Oversee the end-to-end development and implementation of critical company products, driving cross-functional collaboration for both new and established offerings. You will establish and manage project timelines, monitor financial aspects including budgets and spending, and track progress from initiation to delivery, ensuring all milestones are met within approved parameters.

This role demands a deep understanding of Oracle Exadata and strong Oracle RDBMS DBA expertise, coupled with exceptional analytical and technical problem-solving skills, particularly under pressure. Responsibilities include situation and escalation management for highly critical Exadata and RDBMS issues, from initial review and mitigation strategies to coordinating development resources for in-depth issue resolution.

Provide technical leadership and coordination to drive investigations, alongside robust communication skills to deliver executive-level status updates. Contribute to enhancing situation handling processes, streamlining future issue resolution, and offering product improvement suggestions across various product stacks.

A proven track record of at least seven years in project management, product design, or a related field is preferred. A Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) degree, or equivalent experience in a relevant functional area, is required.

Candidates must possess excellent technical problem-solving and analytical capabilities, with a demonstrated ability to identify and clarify issues using basic problem-solving techniques to understand Exadata and database technical challenges. Strong, independent leadership is essential, with experience coordinating and communicating effectively with diverse stakeholders, including senior executives.

The ability to remain calm, clear, and level-headed in high-pressure situations is crucial. Outstanding leadership, organizational, and coordination skills are needed to guide technical teams through investigations and problem resolution. You will be expected to provide detailed written status updates at both technical and executive levels and contribute feedback for product enhancement and future process development.
