Seeking a Principal Core Infrastructure Engineer to spearhead the design and development of robust, scalable, and elastic distributed systems. This role is pivotal in driving performance, reliability, security, and operational excellence across our infrastructure.
You will define critical scalability requirements and Service Level Objectives (SLOs), architect fault-tolerant services capable of seamless upgrades, and implement advanced telemetry and rigorous resilience testing protocols. The position also involves resolving complex production challenges, mentoring engineering talent, and building automation for secure deployments, patching, and rollbacks.
This is an opportunity to shape the future of our core infrastructure, contributing to high availability, market-leading features, and future business adaptability.
Architect and develop highly scalable, elastic distributed systems.
Design and implement fault-tolerant services that support zero-downtime upgrades.
Establish comprehensive telemetry and conduct rigorous resilience testing.
Resolve intricate production issues and mentor fellow engineers.
Develop infrastructure automation for safe deployments, patching, and rollbacks.
Define scalability requirements and Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
Optimize systems for large-scale data processing and high throughput.
Implement redundancy, replication, and automatic failover mechanisms.
Design for effective service disruption handling and network unreliability.
Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and telemetry for system health monitoring.
Implement robust security measures and execute remediation plans.
Ensure cloud infrastructure compliance with industry standards.
A minimum of 7 years of industry experience in commercial or open-source software development is required.
Proficiency in C++ or Java, along with a strong understanding of fundamental Computer Science principles including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems, is essential.
Demonstrated experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure) and building cloud-scale control plane systems is necessary. Strong systems programming skills, including multi-threading and concurrency, are also vital.
A solid grasp of distributed systems concepts like consistency, scaling, and failure recovery, coupled with practical experience in testing, debugging, and documentation within a Linux environment, is expected.
Candidates should possess an inquisitive mindset, a passion for system improvement, and the ability to design architectures that ensure high availability, scalability, and flexibility for future business needs.
