Your expertise in Java, Linux, Python, Terraform, CI/CD tools, networking, and microservices architecture will be instrumental in our success. As a senior software developer, you will own and develop critical services and technology areas. This involves understanding the complete end-to-end architecture, call flows, configurations, and dependencies of production services. You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mission-critical stacks with a focus on security, resilience, scale, and performance.

Key duties include driving service architecture improvements, articulating technical characteristics, and engineering advanced capabilities for the Oracle Cloud service portfolio. You will also communicate the scale, capacity, security, and performance requirements of the service stack, demonstrating a strong grasp of automation and orchestration. Serving as the primary escalation point for complex issues and defining mitigations based on a deep understanding of service dependencies is crucial.

We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science and Engineering or a related field, coupled with at least 6 years of experience in developing and operating large-scale, highly available distributed systems. Proven experience in designing and developing mission-critical Java backend microservices is essential.

This role requires leadership capabilities, including the ability to lead a team, own deliverables, break down work, estimate efforts, and manage multiple parallel work streams. You should be adept at assessing and mitigating technical risks. Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools like Chef, Ansible, Jenkins, and Terraform, along with Python, is expected. Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes is highly desirable.

Exceptional problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills are necessary. A deep understanding of Cloud Computing, observability principles, and NoSQL databases is also required. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and ensure the careful planning and execution of changes, upgrades, and enhancements is vital.
