Join Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and contribute to building cutting-edge GPU platforms essential for AI, machine learning, and high-performance computing.
The Raw Metal Cloud (RMC) team is focused on developing the software platform that governs the entire AI infrastructure lifecycle. This includes everything from initial hardware integration and inventory management to provisioning, networking, validation, and final customer readiness.
As a key member of the RMC team, you will drive the design, development, and operation of telemetry services. Your work will provide critical visibility into data center telemetry, device management, and hardware lifecycle automation, ensuring the health and readiness of our infrastructure. You will build robust software to monitor power, thermal, cooling, and device status, enabling proactive issue detection and resolution.
This role offers the opportunity to independently manage service components from conception to production, collaborating with senior engineers on technical strategies and delivering secure, scalable solutions for data center deployments.
We foster a culture that values clear technical judgment, elegant designs, strong ownership, and effective collaboration. You will have a significant influence on the technical roadmap of RMC, mentor fellow engineers, and develop software that directly impacts OCI's advanced AI infrastructure.
Design and build backend services and APIs for collecting, processing, and distributing telemetry data from various infrastructure devices. Develop reliable integrations with monitoring platforms and storage services, such as Poseidon. Implement workflows for device initialization, configuration, and secure certificate management, including rotation. Create systems for device health monitoring and automate repair processes. Develop operational tools, dashboards, and alarms to streamline troubleshooting and minimize manual intervention. Enhance service scalability, availability, and performance through rigorous load testing, failure handling, and optimization. Write comprehensive automated unit and integration tests, conduct code reviews, and maintain technical documentation and runbooks. Address and resolve production issues in collaboration with infrastructure, security, hardware, and operations teams.
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience is required. Proven experience in developing and maintaining production software, with demonstrated ownership of service components from design through deployment. Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Java or Python, or a similar comparable language. Strong foundational knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, concurrency, and distributed systems. Experience designing and developing REST APIs, integrating services, and managing asynchronous data processing. Familiarity with relational databases, SQL, data modeling, and query optimization techniques. Understanding of Linux environments, fundamental networking concepts, TLS, and certificate-based authentication. Experience with automated testing frameworks, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and production troubleshooting using logs and metrics. Ability to translate complex requirements into well-maintained solutions and communicate effectively with global teams. Experience in designing systems for fault tolerance, concurrency, state management, and recovery within distributed environments. Demonstrated capability to lead complex technical projects from inception through production delivery. Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills, with the ability to work autonomously and collaborate across organizational boundaries. A track record of technical ownership, sound engineering judgment, and mentoring junior engineers.
