Join the OCI Network Automation team as a Principal Core Infrastructure Engineer. This role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing distributed systems with a strong focus on scalability, resilience, and operability. You will deliver features, utilize distributed state tools for high-volume data handling, and ensure code quality and scalability through peer reviews. Proactive issue detection and mitigation using tests, alarms, dashboards, and telemetry are key, alongside authoring runbooks and participating in incident response and root cause analyses.

As a key member of the OCI software engineering group, you will design and develop services, automated workflows, and infrastructure for managing a large network device fleet. You will be responsible for delivering highly available and secure OCI Networking infrastructure. This includes owning the onboarding of next-generation network technologies, deployment tooling, patching strategies, fleet monitoring, automation initiatives, and access controls. Collaboration across OCI is essential to ensure our networking capabilities remain best-in-class. You will build and maintain technologies to automate distributed fleet management, develop deployment and monitoring tools optimized for scale and performance, and enhance deployment efficiency across global regions. Participation in an on-call rotation for fleet and service monitoring is also expected, alongside improving operational capabilities through runbooks, alarming, and tooling.

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of 8 years of software development experience. You should have at least 5 years of experience in Linux System Engineering and 5 years working with programming languages such as Python, BASH, or Java. A minimum of 1 year of DevOps experience is also necessary. Proficiency with build tools and pipelines like TeamCity, Maven, or Make is essential. Preferred qualifications include experience in CI/CD environments, Agile development, prior cloud infrastructure experience, and a proven track record in automating networking device management.
