Join our team as a Principal Core Infrastructure Engineer and take the lead in architecting and developing highly scalable, elastic distributed systems. You will define and enforce scalability requirements, optimize code and data paths for hyper-scale workloads, and leverage data plane platforms for extensive data retrieval, storage, and processing.
Design resilient, in-service-upgradable systems using advanced techniques like redundancy, replication, and failover. Implement strategies such as load-shedding and throttling to ensure system stability even amidst network unreliability, all while adhering to strict Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and telemetry, build proactive monitoring dashboards and alerts, and design sophisticated validation and synchronization mechanisms for robust data integrity. You will also be instrumental in diagnosing and resolving production issues, mentoring peers, and ensuring operational readiness. Furthermore, implement comprehensive security controls, execute remediation plans, maintain compliance documentation, and develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation for safe system updates and rollbacks within established change-management frameworks.
As a Principal Core Infrastructure Engineer, you will spearhead the development and architecture of scalable distributed systems, ensuring horizontal and vertical scalability. Optimize systems for large-scale data processing and high-throughput demands, defining and enforcing component scalability requirements.
Design elastic systems capable of scaling both up and down effectively, and utilize data plane platforms for efficient data handling. Develop fault-tolerant components through redundancy, replication, and failover mechanisms, and design systems to manage network partitions and unreliability using load-shedding and throttling.
Define and implement robust KPIs and telemetry systems, building advanced dashboards and alerts for proactive system health monitoring. Design and implement functional requirements and complex test scenarios, including fault injection and brownouts, to ensure system correctness and durability through data replication and synchronization.
Proactively diagnose and resolve production issues, mentoring team members in troubleshooting processes. Implement strategies to prevent service interruptions and maintain expertise in owned systems. Ensure operational readiness through design and implementation, participating in operational support rotations and incident response.
Implement comprehensive security measures, including encryption and access controls, and execute remediation plans for identified security gaps. Ensure cloud infrastructure compliance with industry standards and regulations, maintaining up-to-date documentation.
Develop and maintain automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for cloud infrastructure management. Create and adhere to change management plans for system updates and rollbacks, designing systems for automated processes.
This role involves leading development and architecting components for scalable, elastic distributed systems. You'll be responsible for optimizing code and data paths for high-throughput, hyper-scale workloads and using data plane platforms for large-scale data operations.
Key responsibilities include designing fault-tolerant, in-service-upgradable systems using redundancy, replication, and failover. You will also implement load-shedding, throttling, and rate-limiting to manage network unreliability while meeting SLOs.
Establishment of KPIs and telemetry, building proactive dashboards and alerts, and designing complex validation (fault injection, brownouts), replication, and synchronization for correctness and durability are crucial. You will proactively diagnose and resolve production issues, mentor peers, and ensure operational readiness.
Implementation of robust security controls, execution of remediation plans, maintenance of compliance documentation, and development of IaC and automation for safe patching, updates, and rollbacks within change-management plans are also integral to this position.
