Our enterprise AI organization is developing advanced platforms to manage and operate AI systems across the business. This includes streamlining intake, automating governance, managing requests, and ensuring runtime observability. The current systems are functional but require end-to-end integration, linking pre-production governance with post-production monitoring and feedback to meet stringent enterprise AI risk management and audit requirements.

As a Principal AI/ML Engineer, you will architect and develop a comprehensive AI lifecycle governance system. This involves integrating intake and registration processes, automated governance gating, request routing, and runtime observability and monitoring.

You will define how these critical capabilities connect, establishing a seamless loop between pre-production governance and post-production monitoring, alerting, feedback, and containment. This role is central to building the foundational technical infrastructure that is currently lacking.

Key responsibilities include: - Architecting the end-to-end AI lifecycle governance system. - Designing technical integrations connecting pre-production and post-production AI processes. - Defining data flows and interfaces for lifecycle traceability. - Hands-on implementation of core integration components. - Leading low-level design and breaking down architecture into actionable engineering tasks. - Influencing senior engineers and architects across teams to establish a unified technical direction. - Driving architectural consensus and resolving design conflicts. - Serving as a technical escalation point for cross-platform integration decisions. - Collaborating with teams responsible for various AI system components. - Identifying and mitigating architectural gaps impacting enterprise AI audit commitments. - Setting technical direction and ensuring system consistency through design and code reviews.

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal AI/ML Engineer with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. You should possess substantial hands-on experience in AI/ML engineering, with a proven track record of building and integrating production AI systems.

Essential experience includes designing systems focused on governance, monitoring, or lifecycle management for software and AI. You must have demonstrated experience collaborating with multiple engineering teams to align on and implement shared architectural visions. A strong background in AI platform architecture, encompassing systems that span multiple components and services, is crucial.

Proficiency in Python, including building production-grade services and integrations, is required. We are looking for individuals who can lead and influence senior engineers and architects through technical expertise, even without direct reporting lines. The ability to independently tackle ambiguous and undefined problems is paramount, as this role involves building novel solutions.
