Join Oracle Cloud's pre-deployment safety platform as a Platform Software Engineer. This role is pivotal in developing, testing, and maintaining critical features for policy evaluation, operational risk assessments, approval workflows, and seamless service integrations. You'll collaborate with seasoned engineers to deliver robust features, troubleshoot deployment issues, enhance monitoring and service reliability, and maintain essential technical documentation. This is a hands-on opportunity to build and manage cloud services that significantly reduce deployment risks while ensuring efficient release processes.

Key responsibilities include delivering minor enhancements to shared services, integration adapters, or SDK surfaces, ensuring compatibility and versioning for downstream teams. You will propose observability and resilience improvements based on usage signals. The role involves designing software solutions, analyzing requirements, and adhering to the full software development lifecycle. You'll write and review code following design specifications, conduct debugging to resolve software issues, and implement comprehensive testing and quality assurance processes. Performance profiling, optimization, and troubleshooting API functionality are also key. You will collaborate with your team and potentially customers to understand and resolve issues, advocate for customer needs, and contribute to product enhancements. Adherence to development practices, coding standards, and secure coding practices is essential. Periodic system maintenance, upgrades, and patching will be performed to ensure service availability and reliability.

This position requires 3 to 5+ years of experience in platform software engineering. Essential skills include Cloud Engineering, Database Management, Design Principles, Distributed Software Development, Java, On Call Support Management, Production Support, Teamwork, Technical Communication, Testing, and User Interface Development. A foundational understanding of business, stakeholder, and customer needs is beneficial for building partnerships. You should be able to identify and escalate issues as needed and troubleshoot errors by compiling data from multiple sources.
