Seeking a seasoned Oracle DBA with extensive experience in cloud migrations, database upgrades, and APEX specialization. This role involves architecting, installing, and maintaining Oracle Database infrastructure across both on-premises and cloud environments. You will orchestrate the migration of legacy databases, perform major upgrades (e.g., 12c/11g to 19c/23c), and configure robust Oracle APEX environments. Key responsibilities include tuning cloud data engines and ensuring minimal business impact during critical cutovers using advanced Oracle technologies.
Focus on leading technical planning and execution for database migrations to OCI DB Systems and Autonomous Databases. You'll be responsible for the installation, configuration, and administration of Oracle Database systems, alongside supporting and tuning production databases. Expertise in implementing Oracle Zero Downtime Migration (ZDM), Oracle GoldenGate, and optimized Oracle Data Pump architectures is crucial for minimizing downtime during large-scale cutovers.
Drive the transition from legacy 12c or 11g environments to modern Oracle versions like 19c, 23c, or 26ai. This includes transforming traditional architectures into Container Databases (CDB) and Pluggable Databases (PDB). The role also demands proficiency in provisioning and managing Oracle APEX instances across all environments, ensuring their seamless operation within CDB/PDB architectures.
Lead complex database migrations from on-premises to OCI DB Systems and Autonomous Databases. Install, configure, and administer Oracle Database systems in both on-prem and cloud settings. Provide comprehensive support and performance tuning for production and non-production Oracle Databases. Implement Oracle ZDM, Oracle GoldenGate, and optimized Data Pump for minimal business disruption during massive cutovers. Execute major database upgrades, transitioning from legacy versions (e.g., 12c, 11g) to current versions (e.g., 19c, 23c, 26ai). Facilitate the architectural shift from traditional setups to Container Databases (CDB) and Pluggable Databases (PDB). Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Oracle APEX instances across development, test, and production environments. Collaborate with cloud infrastructure engineers for OCI-native database service instantiation, patching, and scaling. Set up and verify cross-cloud or cross-region Disaster Recovery environments using Oracle Data Guard and Active Data Guard. Integrate RMAN with OCI Object Storage for backup and recovery of database files and APEX application metadata. Conduct in-depth SQL tuning, AWR/ASH analysis, and memory/I/O tuning to resolve post-migration performance issues. Diagnose and optimize performance bottlenecks impacting heavy APEX web applications and ORDS connection pools. Assist functional teams and developers in designing and developing schemas and applications for ERP solutions, including archival, custom OLTP, and reporting.
Minimum 8 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator, demonstrating a strong history of managing at least 3 enterprise-scale cloud database migrations and production-grade APEX instances. Possess 8+ years of deep mastery in Oracle Database architectures, including CDB/PDB structures, Oracle ZDM, Data Pump, Transportable Tablespaces, and Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN). Require 3 years of knowledge and experience in Oracle APEX architecture and administration, ORDS configuration, Tomcat/WebLogic deployment, and RESTful web service security. Demonstrate production experience managing databases hosted on OCI DB Systems, Autonomous Database (ATP), and Exadata Cloud Infrastructure. Accumulate 3 to 5 years of experience working with PeopleSoft or other ERP solutions. Preferred certifications include Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) – Oracle Database 19c/23c, Oracle Cloud Database Service Specialist, and Oracle APEX Cloud Developer Certified Professional (highly advantageous).
