Join our team as a Site Reliability Engineer to architect, deploy, operate, and continuously enhance Oracle Autonomous AI Database cloud services. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for critical infrastructure and production operations, tackling complex database and system challenges, and implementing automation to boost service reliability and operational efficiency.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams on database platform architecture, provisioning, configuration, deployment, performance optimization, capacity planning, and release engineering. This position is ideal for an engineer possessing a blend of hands-on Oracle Database and Engineered Systems expertise, coupled with robust Linux administration, troubleshooting, and scripting proficiencies.

Key responsibilities include owning production reliability and operations by implementing and supporting critical database infrastructure and cloud platform services. You will be tasked with complex incident resolution, diagnosing and resolving hardware, operating system, and database issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing preventive measures.

Manage database infrastructure by deploying, configuring, optimizing, and troubleshooting Oracle Engineered Systems and Oracle Database technologies like RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and RMAN. Drive automation and self-healing initiatives by developing Python and shell scripts to streamline operational tasks and enhance service recovery.

Take charge of performance and capacity management through system health monitoring, bottleneck identification, capacity planning, and performance optimization. Contribute to platform engineering and deployment, including architecture, provisioning, configuration, deployment, release engineering, and ongoing support for database cloud services.

Foster cross-functional collaboration with engineering teams to prototype and improve database platform services, investigate production issues, and refine operational processes. Uphold security and operational excellence by applying best practices and continuously enhancing monitoring, configuration management, and production resilience.

Essential qualifications include hands-on experience with Oracle Engineered Systems, including deployment, optimization, maintenance, and troubleshooting. A strong practical understanding of Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN, and database performance tuning is required.

Proficiency in Linux administration and troubleshooting, particularly with environments like Oracle Linux (OEL) or RHEL, is mandatory. You must possess the ability to diagnose complex hardware/software issues, restore service functionality, perform root cause analysis, and prevent recurrence.

Demonstrated experience using Python and shell scripting for automation is crucial for improving efficiency and reducing operational workload. Prior experience supporting production systems with a focus on availability, monitoring, performance, and operational stability is expected.

Strong analytical troubleshooting skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams are vital. Preferred qualifications include experience with cloud infrastructure platforms such as OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP, and familiarity with configuration management tools. A working knowledge of security practices for web application delivery and network infrastructure concepts is also beneficial.
