Join our dynamic team as a Network Implementation Engineer, playing a crucial role in the deployment, maintenance, and operation of private data networks globally.
You will collaborate closely with Technical Program Managers, Network Engineers, Design and Infrastructure Engineers, and Field Engineers within Google. Partnerships with construction and telecommunications vendors and contractors will also be key to ensuring team and organizational success.
Your efforts will contribute to achieving faster, more efficient, and positive outcomes for the business and our customers. The ultimate goal is to construct the most reliable, cost-effective, and scalable network to support current and future global users.
Google's network serves millions of users worldwide. Our metros are critical edge points connecting Google to its users. The Network Team is dedicated to operating this network reliably and at scale. We are responsible for the entire lifecycle of space, power, and network assets across all Google data centers and metro points of presence globally, from site acquisition to construction and delivery.
As a Network Operation Engineer, you will be the first responder to faults and outages within Google's production network.
Key responsibilities include monitoring network health, identifying potential risks, and addressing performance degradation.
You will participate in an on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 network support. Performing root cause analysis for network incidents and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence is also vital.
Additionally, you will identify opportunities to develop automation and tooling to enhance repair times and minimize manual effort. Collaborating effectively with internal teams and external vendors to manage and resolve network issues is essential for success.
