In this role, you will interface with key stakeholders to define and meet technical project requirements. You will manage construction activities and DWDM network rollouts, taking ownership of project scope, timeline, and budget. Ensuring adherence to defined standards in construction, fiber, and optical networks is crucial.
Responsibilities include performing quality audits, understanding metro fiber market segments, and driving scaling designs to meet customer demand. You will collaborate with data center providers for equipment and circuit installations, create detailed network planning packs for scalable infrastructure, and manage program risks. Regular reporting to management on status reviews is also a key duty. You will develop long-term strategic partnerships and gain insights into operating and maintaining complex global networks, while managing multiple projects across different time zones.
A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required, along with at least 5 years of technical infrastructure management experience. This should include network construction or program management within a telecom environment.
Essential skills include a strong understanding of fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing, and troubleshooting. You should possess strong analytical and communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail. Familiarity with software development practices and data center/infrastructure/networking technologies is necessary. A solid technical grasp of transport technologies like Fiber and DWDM is also expected. The role requires the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, work across time zones, and involves 25-50% travel.
