Lead a team of Network Development Engineers focused on capacity restoration tooling, automation, and network engineering solutions. You will be responsible for hiring, developing, and coaching engineers to build a high-performing team. This includes strategically assigning projects to foster skill development and driving a culture of operational excellence.
Define the strategic roadmap and vision for capacity restoration, representing the team to senior leadership and driving long-term strategic direction. You will also take ownership of capacity restoration products, proactively identifying and resolving architectural gaps in systems.
Drive engineering efforts to address complex network capacity issues at an architectural level. This involves understanding system limitations, making informed trade-offs between short-term needs and long-term architecture, and simplifying restoration processes. You will also manage deferred maintenance and ensure compliance with Amazon's operational policies.
A minimum of 4 years of experience managing teams is required, alongside 5+ years of engineering experience and 8+ years in a technology role. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is necessary.
Demonstrated experience in team management, engineering, and technology roles is essential. Prior experience with network operations, either as a manager or individual contributor, is also a key requirement for this position.
Preferred qualifications include knowledge of networking, experience in creating and implementing high-volume recruiting plans, and contributions to operational automation opportunities. Experience representing your team or technical area to senior management is also highly valued.
