Seeking a dedicated Messaging Services Senior Specialist to enhance our email security infrastructure. This role focuses on managing and fortifying our messaging platforms against a wide array of threats, ensuring robust data protection and uninterrupted communication.

This position requires a proactive approach to security, involving advanced threat intelligence management, connection filtering, and the implementation of sophisticated outbreak and content filters. You will play a key role in preventing the leakage of sensitive data and ensuring domain integrity through stringent authentication protocols.

Key responsibilities include monitoring system performance, conducting root cause analysis, and managing upgrades and patching for critical email security solutions. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to maintain an optimal security posture and support incident response activities.

Manage and leverage Cisco Talos threat intelligence to block spam, viruses, and malicious content, using Advanced Malware Protection for file analysis.

Configure connection and reputation filtering to mitigate malicious connection attempts, and implement outbreak filters for zero-day threat protection.

Develop custom message filters for content control, enforce company disclaimers, and set up Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies to prevent sensitive data exfiltration.

Ensure domain security by enforcing SPF, DKIM, and DMARC, and actively monitor sender ecosystems using tools like Valimail.

Track messages, investigate delivery issues, generate threat analytics reports, and manage email quarantines, addressing false positives to minimize business impact.

Monitor system health, perform root cause analysis on incidents, and manage configurations, upgrades, and patching for Cisco Secure Email and Valimail. Collaborate with IT security, compliance, and infrastructure teams, and maintain technical documentation.

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required, coupled with over 5 years of hands-on experience with Proofpoint Email Security solutions.

Strong practical expertise in Cisco Secure Email (formerly Cisco Email Security Appliance/ESA) and Valimail is essential. Proficiency in email protocols like SMTP, IMAP, POP3, and email authentication standards such as SPF, DKIM, and DMARC is expected.

A solid understanding of networking principles, firewall configurations, and general security best practices is necessary. Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills are paramount for success in this role.
