Seeking a Messaging Services Senior Specialist to enhance our email security infrastructure. This role involves managing advanced threat defense mechanisms, ensuring secure communication channels, and maintaining optimal email hygiene. You will play a critical part in protecting our organization from evolving cyber threats.

This position requires expertise in managing email security solutions, conducting in-depth analysis of threats, and implementing robust preventative measures. The ideal candidate will contribute significantly to maintaining a strong security posture and ensuring business continuity through effective email management.

Manage threat intelligence feeds to block spam and malware, employing Advanced Malware Protection for file analysis. Configure connection and reputation filtering to block malicious connection attempts. Implement outbreak rules for real-time protection against zero-day threats and create custom content filters for specific security needs.

Enforce data loss prevention policies to safeguard sensitive information. Ensure domain security through SPF, DKIM, and DMARC implementation. Utilize message tracking and analytics for reporting and to investigate delivery failures. Manage quarantined emails and address false positives to prevent business impact.

Monitor sender ecosystems and third-party services using Valimail tools. Oversee system performance, conduct root cause analysis for security incidents, and implement corrective actions. Manage configuration, upgrades, and patching for Cisco Secure Email and Valimail. Collaborate with IT security and infrastructure teams for optimal email security.

Develop and update technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base articles. Participate in security audits, support incident response, and assist with email threat investigations. Coordinate with vendors for health checks and implement recommendations. Provide subject matter expertise and support 24x7 operations, including flexible working hours and weekends.

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Candidates must possess over 5 years of experience with Proofpoint Email Security Solutions. Strong practical experience with Cisco Secure Email (formerly ESA) and Valimail is essential.

Proficiency in email protocols such as SMTP, IMAP, and POP3 is necessary. A solid understanding of email authentication standards including SPF, DKIM, and DMARC is critical. Familiarity with networking concepts, firewalls, and general security best practices is expected.

Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills are paramount for this role. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively with a global engineering team is crucial.
