EY is seeking a talented Assistant Manager for their MENA Tax ACR team. The Assistant Manager will be instrumental in establishing robust financial reporting processes across diverse jurisdictions and driving tool development. You will collaborate closely with MENA Engagement leaders to ensure consistency in management reporting and the accurate preparation and review of financial statements. This role provides a significant opportunity to offer exceptional support to engagement teams on all compliance and reporting activities.

Key responsibilities include providing expert advice on local GAAP for the EMEA region, with a focus on financial reporting, disclosure requirements, and accounting standards. You will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the CaseWare tool and its content, conducting detailed reviews of accounts and schedules to ensure deliverable quality. The role involves managing tool testing in coordination with the technology development team and overseeing global corporate accounting processes or statutory reporting compliance for EY Local teams.

Further duties include liaising with EY Local teams on reporting processes and identifying areas for continuous improvement. You will lead multiple project work streams, covering opportunity identification, stakeholder communication, and vendor management. Maintaining internal and external reporting dashboards to track multi-country engagement progress is essential. Risk management, project economics, escalation handling, and effective planning and budgeting are also critical aspects of this position. You will be expected to identify process issues and propose effective solutions, challenge the status quo, and implement process improvements with a focus on lean methodologies and strong controls.

To excel in this role, a Chartered Accountant (CA/ACCA) qualification is required, coupled with 7-8 years of post-qualification experience and a strong understanding of IFRS. In-depth knowledge of IFRS is essential, with US GAAP or other GAAPs being an advantageous addition.

Essential skills include hands-on experience with financial reporting tools like Thomson Reuters or CaseWare, and technical proficiency in financial reporting within a specialized field. Experience managing EMEA clients and their statutory reporting processes is highly desirable. Excellent presentation, interpersonal, client, and stakeholder management skills are crucial.
