Seeking a Senior Associate for Medical Records Coding and Transcription. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate and standardized medical data through expert coding practices. You will contribute to the uniformity of medical documentation across facilities, enhancing communication and patient care.
As a medical coder, your primary function involves meticulously reviewing patient documentation to grasp diagnoses and transforming complex healthcare information, including diagnoses, procedures, and services, into universal alphanumeric codes. This process is essential for creating a standardized vocabulary that accurately describes causes of injury, illness, and death, thereby facilitating seamless data exchange between medical institutions.
Your responsibilities will include carefully reading documentation to understand patient diagnoses and transforming healthcare data into universal medical alphanumeric codes. You will be instrumental in creating a standardized vocabulary for describing injuries, illnesses, and causes of death. A key aspect of this role is to review clinical statements and assign appropriate standard codes, ensuring uniformity in medical documentation between healthcare facilities.
This position also involves acting as a QC reviewer, providing valuable audit feedback to the team. You will be expected to identify trends in documentation deficiencies and highlight them. Additionally, you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for freshers, guiding them in their development.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in the healthcare BPO sector, specifically within outpatient multispecialty coding, and hold a mandatory CPC certification. Proficiency in EM outpatient coding and multispecialty/procedure codes is essential. You should have a proven ability to provide audit feedback and identify documentation deficiency trends.
Experience of at least 1 year using Windows PC applications, including keyboard navigation and software learning, is required. The role demands flexibility for scheduled shifts (Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM IST, with potential changes based on client needs) and willingness to work overtime or weekends as per business requirements. Effective oral and written communication in English is crucial for interacting with our clients.
