Medical coders create a standardized vocabulary essential for understanding causes of injury, illness, and death. This coding system ensures uniform documentation across healthcare facilities. The primary responsibility involves reviewing clinical statements and assigning appropriate standard codes.

Reviewing patient documentation to thoroughly understand diagnoses. Translating healthcare information, including diagnoses, procedures, and services, into standardized alphanumeric codes. Assigning universal medical codes based on clinical documentation. Ensuring accuracy and adherence to coding guidelines.

Requires 0-1 year of experience within the Healthcare BPO sector. A university degree or equivalent, necessitating at least 3 years of formal study in Life Sciences, B.PT, Pharmacy, or Nursing, is essential. Possess a strong understanding of human Anatomy and Physiology. Demonstrated proficiency in using computer applications with Windows, including effective keyboard use, screen navigation, and the ability to learn new software. Availability to work scheduled shifts from Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM IST, with potential adjustments based on client needs. Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as dictated by business requirements. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are required for effective information exchange with clients. This position is located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
