This role focuses on transforming healthcare documentation into standardized medical alphanumeric codes. Medical coders play a crucial part in creating a universal vocabulary for diagnoses, procedures, and medical services, ensuring consistent documentation across healthcare facilities.
The primary responsibility involves meticulously reviewing clinical statements and assigning appropriate standard codes. This process is vital for accurate record-keeping and communication within the healthcare industry.
Reviewing patient documentation to understand diagnoses. Transforming healthcare diagnoses, procedures, and services into universal medical alphanumeric codes. Assigning standard codes to clinical statements. Potentially contributing to Quality Control (QC) functions.
A minimum of two years of experience in a Healthcare BPO, specifically within ED (Emergency Department) and professional coding. Possess strong knowledge of ED coding and procedure codes. Demonstrated ability to transition into a Quality Control (QC) role. At least one year of experience using a computer with Windows applications, involving keyboard usage, screen navigation, and learning new software. Availability to work scheduled shifts from Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM IST, with the understanding that shift timings may be adjusted based on client needs. Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required by business demands.
