Join NVIDIA, a global leader in accelerated computing, and contribute to local product development in India. Our Local Product Engineering (LPE) group plays a crucial role in the product lifecycle, ensuring mechanical readiness from build to mass production. This is an opportunity to work on NVIDIA's networking product portfolio, collaborating with contract manufacturers worldwide to uphold production quality and manufacturing excellence.
The Mechanical Product Engineer will be responsible for the mechanical aspects of production test fixtures, jigs, and enclosures. This role involves overseeing maintenance and adjustments at contract manufacturing sites, supporting new product introduction (NPI) mechanical readiness, and integrating manufacturing perspectives into hardware development reviews.
Key responsibilities include maintaining and improving production testing setups, jigs, and enclosures for seamless integration across product lines and manufacturing sites. You will govern maintenance and calibration processes, authoring documentation and leading audits at contract manufacturing facilities. The role also involves performing data-driven analysis of test equipment limits to recommend extensions and escorting new products through mechanical readiness stages for large-scale manufacturing.
Further duties include providing hands-on technical support to global contract manufacturers, resolving mechanical issues in real-time, and conducting quality audits focused on mechanical processes and compliance. You will also participate in design reviews, offering production insights, and managing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) related to fixtures and tooling.
Candidates should possess a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent degree, with a minimum of 5 years of experience as a mechanical engineer in a production or manufacturing environment. Essential hands-on experience includes fixture and jig design for electronics manufacturing or testing, along with a strong ability to interpret mechanical and assembly drawings. Proficiency in 3D CAD tools such as Creo Parametric or SolidWorks is required.
Further qualifications include knowledge of high-volume manufacturing maintenance and calibration processes, experience working with contract manufacturers or EMS providers, and strong analytical skills for data-driven limit analysis. Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. This role requires a full-time presence at the Jabil (Pune CM Site).
