Contribute to the cutting-edge design and development of products, solutions, and systems. This role involves enhancing existing products and components, impacting team quality, and executing technical tasks under guidance. You'll have the flexibility to adapt task sequences based on evolving work situations.
This is an early-career opportunity in Engineering and Technology, focusing on the mechanical engineering domain. While prior experience is beneficial, the role encourages growth and learning within a dynamic environment.
Spearhead mechanical engineering efforts for new product development, installed-base projects, and VCP initiatives. Evaluate and refine mechanical designs using tolerance analysis, material selection, and design-for-manufacturing principles. Generate and update 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, specifications, and comprehensive engineering documentation. Conduct engineering analyses, risk assessments, root-cause investigations, and lead design reviews. Plan and execute prototype builds, rigorous testing, verification, and validation activities. Employ DFMEA, tolerance analysis, GD&T, and Design for Six Sigma principles. Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, sourcing, regulatory, systems, and other engineering teams to address technical challenges. Support technical investigations and drive issue resolution using structured problem-solving approaches. Ensure all designs and documentation adhere to quality systems, regulatory standards, and design control processes. Effectively communicate technical recommendations, identified risks, trade-offs, and project progress to all stakeholders.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field is required. Approximately two years of relevant mechanical engineering experience is expected. Proficiency with 3D CAD software and engineering drawings, ideally Creo or a similar platform, is essential. A solid understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, materials science, manufacturing processes, and mechanical testing is crucial. Experience with structured problem-solving techniques, design reviews, verification processes, and engineering change management is necessary. Prior experience in medical devices or other regulated industries is a plus. Familiarity with simulation/CAE, DFSS, reliability engineering, or MBD would be advantageous.
