Join Capgemini Engineering, a leader in innovative engineering services, where you can contribute to groundbreaking projects from autonomous vehicles to life-saving robotics. We empower our global team of engineers and scientists to help the world's most forward-thinking companies achieve their full potential.
This role is for a Mechanical Design Engineer with 5-8 years of experience, focusing on wind turbine, heavy engineering, or industrial equipment design. You will be instrumental in the design, development, validation, and continuous improvement of critical wind turbine components and mechanical systems. Your expertise will ensure robust, cost-effective, and manufacturable designs using advanced CAD tools, adhering strictly to engineering standards and safety protocols.
Collaborate with diverse teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to drive innovative technical solutions. You'll actively participate in product lifecycle management, conduct essential design reviews, perform risk assessments, and champion engineering excellence throughout the product development journey. This is an opportunity to make a tangible difference and experience a dynamic career with endless possibilities.
Your primary responsibility will be designing and developing wind turbine components and mechanical systems, ensuring they meet all functional, reliability, safety, manufacturability, serviceability, and cost requirements. You will create and refine 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings utilizing NX.
Develop comprehensive mechanical concepts and detailed designs for fabricated structures, sheet metal parts, and various assembly types (bolted, welded). Leverage advanced CAD methodologies, including parametric and expression-based modeling, part families, and efficient large assembly management. Accurately define dimensional tolerances and geometric controls using GPS/GD&T principles.
Prepare and maintain essential engineering documentation, such as manufacturing drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and service-related information. Conduct crucial analyses including tolerance stack-ups, interference checks, Form-Fit-Function (FFF) assessments, and manufacturability evaluations. Ensure all designs comply with international standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications.
A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a specialization or significant experience in Heavy Engineering, Industrial Machinery, Wind Energy, Power Generation, Oil & Gas, or Construction Equipment, is required.
Demonstrate strong, hands-on proficiency with NX and CATIA, including experience in parametric modeling, expression-based modeling, part families, and adept assembly management. You should have proven experience in designing and detailing sheet metal components, fabricated structures, and welded assemblies.
Possess a deep understanding of GD&T principles and engineering drafting standards. Familiarity with Teamcenter or comparable PLM systems is essential for effective product data management and engineering change control. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, manufacturing, sourcing, and quality departments is key to success in this role.
