Job description

Join Capgemini Engineering, a global leader in engineering services, and contribute to designing innovative wind turbine components and mechanical systems. This role is for experienced professionals seeking a career full of opportunities, where you can make a difference and embrace new challenges daily. We are a collaborative community focused on driving scalable, sustainable growth for leading engineering and industrial manufacturing organizations by unlocking the value of technology.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a crucial part in the entire product development lifecycle, from initial design to continuous improvement. You'll have the chance to work on cutting-edge projects and collaborate with a diverse team of experts to reimagine what's possible in engineering.

Responsibilities

Design and develop wind turbine components and mechanical systems, ensuring they meet all functional, reliability, safety, manufacturability, serviceability, and cost requirements. Create and modify 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings using NX. Develop mechanical concepts for fabricated structures, sheet metal parts, and various assemblies. Apply advanced CAD methodologies and define precise dimensional tolerances using GPS/GD&T principles. Prepare comprehensive engineering documentation, including BOMs and service-related materials.

Perform crucial analyses such as tolerance stack-ups and interference checks. Conduct engineering calculations to support verification activities and ensure designs comply with international standards and safety regulations. Contribute to Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Assembly (DFA), and Serviceability (DFS) initiatives. Conduct FMEA and risk assessments to enhance product robustness and support problem-solving.

Lead technical discussions and design reviews with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and external partners. Support engineering change management activities and maintain product data within PLM systems like Teamcenter. Collaborate closely with manufacturing, sourcing, quality, service, and project teams for successful product implementation.

Qualifications

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with 5 to 8 years of experience in wind turbine, heavy engineering, or industrial equipment design. A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required, with a background in Heavy Engineering, Industrial Machinery, Wind Energy, Power Generation, Oil & Gas, or Construction Equipment.

Proficiency in NX and CATIA is essential, including experience with parametric modelling, expression-based modelling, part families, and assembly management. You should have hands-on experience designing and detailing sheet metal components, fabricated structures, and welded assemblies. A strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drafting standards is also necessary.

Experience working with Teamcenter or similar Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems is required. This role offers flexibility, continuous learning opportunities, and an inclusive culture where your career can advance. Join us in shaping the future of engineering.
