Join Capgemini Engineering, a global leader in engineering services, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions in wind turbine, heavy engineering, and industrial equipment design. This permanent role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and drive engineering excellence.
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with 5 to 8 years of experience to design, develop, validate, and continuously improve wind turbine components and mechanical systems. You will leverage NX CAD tools to create robust and cost-effective designs while ensuring adherence to engineering standards and customer specifications.
Collaboration is key in this role. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to develop innovative technical solutions. Your contributions will support product lifecycle management, risk assessments, and overall engineering advancement.
Key responsibilities include designing and developing mechanical components and systems that meet stringent functional, reliability, safety, manufacturability, and cost requirements. You will create and modify 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings using NX, applying advanced CAD methodologies.
This role involves developing mechanical concepts for various components, defining precise dimensional tolerances using GPS/GD&T principles, and preparing comprehensive engineering documentation. You will also conduct critical analyses such as tolerance stack-ups, interference checks, and manufacturability evaluations.
Furthermore, you will ensure designs comply with international standards and safety regulations, contribute to DFM/DFA/DFS initiatives, and support FMEA and risk assessment activities. Leading technical discussions and collaborating with diverse teams will be integral to your success.
We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer holding a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, with a background in Heavy Engineering, Industrial Machinery, Wind Energy, Power Generation, Oil & Gas, or Construction Equipment. A strong foundation in NX and CATIA is essential for this role.
Proven experience in parametric modeling, expression-based modeling, part families, and assembly management is required. You should also have hands-on experience designing and detailing sheet metal components, fabricated structures, and welded assemblies. A solid understanding of GD&T and engineering drafting standards is crucial.
Familiarity with Teamcenter or similar PLM systems is necessary. The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, a commitment to engineering excellence, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a dynamic team environment.
