As a key contributor, you will provide technical leadership across the Diagnostic Cardiology business unit. Your expertise will guide mechanical engineers in areas of innovation, design processes, and product development. Develop and execute the mechanical technology roadmap for advanced ECG products, aligning with business and customer strategies. Provide essential technical leadership for New Product Introduction (NPI), Advanced Technology Development (ATD), product refreshes, and cost-reduction efforts. Own the mechanical architecture and detailed design of components, assemblies, and systems from concept to market release. Lead cross-functional teams including Systems, Electrical, Software, Manufacturing, Quality, and Sourcing.
Translate complex product requirements into robust, manufacturable, and cost-effective mechanical designs. Conduct thorough engineering analyses, including structural and thermal simulations, to validate design integrity. Create and review detailed engineering documentation, CAD models, drawings, and Bills of Materials. Guide prototype development, system integration, testing, and issue resolution throughout the product lifecycle. Drive innovation through new concepts and emerging technologies, promoting standardization and design reuse.
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with over 12 years of experience in leading the design and development of systems featuring plastic molded, casting, and sheet-metal components. A Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred, alongside proven technical leadership in regulated medical device development.
Essential technical skills include strong expertise in mechanical and structural design, analysis, and verification of electro-mechanical systems. Proficiency in CAD tools like Creo, and hands-on experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and thermal analysis are critical. A solid understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Assembly (DFA), material selection, and product verification methodologies is also required. Familiarity with medical device development processes, quality standards (IEC 60601), and regulatory requirements is crucial.
