Join a dynamic team focused on tackling complex business challenges at Google. As a Data Scientist in Marketing, you will drive critical measurement and analytics programs, delivering scaled impact across Google's media campaigns. You'll contribute to project implementation, enhance data pipelines, manage global projects, and develop best practices for insightful business analysis. This role involves owning measurement strategies, defining milestones, directing agencies, and leading teams to successful project completion.

This is a strategic and technical position focused on all aspects of media, marketing, and analytics. You will partner with internal teams to evaluate strategic initiatives, leveraging first-party and third-party data to create innovative solutions that demonstrate the effectiveness of Google's media investments. You will navigate complex industry challenges at a global scale while maintaining regional focus and collaborating with diverse teams across different regions and marketing entities.

Responsibilities

Utilize your data analytics expertise to devise solutions for marketing challenges, identifying opportunities for measurement and optimization to elevate brand and performance marketing efforts.

Develop comprehensive cross-product measurement and testing plans, defining requirements, reporting, metrics, and benchmarks for major campaigns to maximize the incremental impact of marketing investments. This includes implementing conversion lift tests, matched market analyses, and brand lift studies.

Collaborate with internal teams on advanced analytics initiatives, encompassing experimentation, measurement, and modeling.

Champion a customer-centric, data-driven approach grounded in people-based marketing strategies to build, segment, and test audiences for optimal business outcomes.

Create robust evaluation frameworks for large-scale models and new metrics, investigating any anomalies. Define and solve ambiguous problems by prioritizing technical efforts and innovating statistical methodologies.

Qualifications

A Master's degree in a quantitative field like Statistics, Engineering, or Sciences, or equivalent practical experience, is required.

Possess at least 3 years of experience applying analytics to solve product or business problems, with proficiency in coding languages such as Python or R, database querying (SQL), or statistical analysis. A PhD degree is also considered.

Preferred qualifications include experience translating business challenges into research questions and delivering actionable marketing recommendations based on research insights. Experience with meta-analysis, automated analytics pipelines, audience segmentation, and propensity modeling is beneficial.

Demonstrate research experience in designing, scoping, and managing brand measurement initiatives, including panel setup, tracking, media brand lift studies, agency management, and statistical testing.

Applied knowledge of R or Python for statistical analysis and SQL is essential. The ability to generate practical solutions for marketing analytics issues and use results to drive business change in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders is crucial.
