You will own the cluster architecture and delivery for our cloud (AKS) and edge (K3s) restaurant environments. This includes managing edge deployment automation, ensuring seamless cloud containerized app management, and implementing effective traffic routing and load balancing. Furthermore, you will be responsible for optimizing autoscaling and load balancing for edge infrastructure, managing edge networking, and establishing robust edge resiliency and disaster recovery strategies.

Key responsibilities involve utilizing tools like Spectro Cloud (Palette) and Flux (GitOps) for automated rollouts, managing AKS cluster operations with Helm/Kustomize, and configuring Traefik for optimal service routing. You'll also focus on node/workload autoscaling for constrained hardware and implementing network policies with Calico CNI for isolation. Driving fleet-wide visibility with Azure Arc-enabled Kubernetes and leveraging Prometheus, Grafana, and Azure Monitor for health visibility are also critical aspects of this role.

We are looking for a seasoned professional with 7-15 years of experience in managing complex cloud and edge infrastructure. A deep understanding of edge deployment automation, including K3s cluster provisioning and lifecycle management via Spectro Cloud (Palette) and Flux (GitOps), is essential. Proficiency in cloud containerized application management, such as AKS cluster operations and Helm/Kustomize packaging, is also required.

Hands-on experience with Traefik for traffic routing and load balancing, alongside expertise in autoscaling and load balancing for edge environments, is crucial. A strong grasp of edge networking concepts using Calico CNI and experience with edge resiliency and disaster recovery through tools like Azure Arc-enabled Kubernetes are necessary. You should also be adept at troubleshooting common Kubernetes issues at scale, including CrashLoopBackOff and node-pressure evictions.
