Join Deloitte's Technology & Transformation team as a Manager in Test Automation, based in Chennai. This role is part of the Engineering practice, focusing on leveraging vast amounts of data to provide strategic guidance and implementation services. You will help companies manage data effectively, converting it into actionable insights for informed decision-making.
Our practice spans business intelligence, data management, performance management, and advanced analytics, including big data, cloud, cognitive, and machine learning technologies. As a key member, you will contribute to uncovering and unlocking the value within complex data landscapes.
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust API and microservices automation frameworks using Java. You will be responsible for testing Java-based APIs, microservices, core banking services, payment flows, and backend systems.
Validate end-to-end service interactions, system integrations, and critical customer journeys. Integrate automated testing suites seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring efficient deployment.
Drive root cause analysis for defects, actively participate in defect triage meetings, and continuously enhance overall quality governance. Collaborate closely with backend, payments, cloud, and product teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality releases. You will also contribute to and review Test Strategy, Test Planning, and Test Management activities.
This role requires a Senior SDET with a minimum of 6 years of experience in QA Automation. Essential skills include strong programming proficiency in Java and hands-on experience with API automation tools like REST Assured and Postman/Newman.
Demonstrate experience testing Java-based APIs and microservices, with a solid understanding of service contracts, mocking/stubbing, JSON/XML validation, and API schema validation. Familiarity with Retail Banking processes such as accounts, cards, payments, and transactions is crucial.
Proven experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Git, Maven/Gradle, and strong skills in Linux, log analysis, and debugging backend flows are mandatory. A foundational knowledge of API development principles is also required.
Candidates must pass an in-office Spartan test followed by a Karat Assessment. An educational background of BE/B.Tech is required.
