Lead an IT professional team in developing and delivering high-quality software solutions efficiently. Establish and monitor departmental and staff objectives to align with strategic goals. Drive the definition, development, and delivery of significant cross-departmental initiatives with long-term business impact.
Partner with business stakeholders to identify innovative solutions and influence strategic decisions. Develop business cases aligned with Mastercard's objectives and actively seek opportunities for innovation and creative problem-solving. Present to senior management and stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making.
Provide recommendations to senior management on technology selection and the department's strategic technical direction. Lead the implementation of processes and supporting tools to meet evolving organizational needs. Identify process gaps, estimate business solutions, define initial project scope and requirements, and manage scope throughout the project lifecycle. Plan overall project scope and scope for each phase and iteration to meet business and time-to-market needs.
Ensure adequate staffing, training, and management for projects. Verify that personnel possess the appropriate skills and behaviors. Effectively communicate performance results and manage efforts within approved manpower and budget guidelines. Oversee strategic planning, financial planning, administration, and overall management of the department.
A Bachelor of Science degree or an equivalent combination of experience and formal education is required. Possess 5-8 years of relevant experience, including management experience leading diverse teams and conducting formal performance reviews. Experience managing financials for multiple projects and programs is essential.
Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Project Management, Strategic Planning, and related financial concepts. A solid understanding of and advanced experience with Software Engineering Concepts and Methodologies, ideally with 5-8 years of methodology experience, is highly desirable. Ability to assist in policy development and establish plans is also crucial.
Proficiency is expected in backend technologies such as Java/Spring Boot, Go, or C++. Experience with microservices, REST APIs, and event-driven architectures like Kafka or NATS is required. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins), containerization (Docker), and Kubernetes/cloud-native platforms is necessary.
Strong management skills are needed to coach colleagues, supported by excellent verbal and written communication abilities. The role requires the capacity to provide comprehensive business or technical project planning for product enhancements.
