We are seeking a dynamic Manager, Software Engineering to join our Economics and Intelligence division. This role is pivotal in leading the end-to-end delivery of engineering projects for our cutting-edge analytics and BI solutions. You will leverage extensive Mastercard datasets and proprietary analytics techniques to address significant business challenges for clients worldwide.
As a Manager, Software Engineering, you will lead and inspire a team of engineers. Your people management duties will include setting clear goals, providing coaching and mentorship, conducting performance reviews, and fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment. You will also manage workload distribution, promote team well-being, resolve conflicts, and support the career growth and training of your team members.
On the technical side, you will offer expert guidance, define technical strategy aligned with business objectives, and oversee architecture and system design. Your responsibilities will extend to reviewing code and deliverables, ensuring adherence to quality, security, and best practices, managing technical debt, and driving innovation through continuous improvement and staying abreast of emerging technologies.
We are looking for a seasoned professional with a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering, complemented by a strong track record in delivering complex technical projects. Alternatively, equivalent work experience will be considered.
Key qualifications include a solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, web applications, and microservices. You should possess strong communication and conflict resolution skills, along with proven project and stakeholder management capabilities.
Technical expertise in React.js development, the .NET framework, and AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, Lambda) is essential. Proficiency in databases such as SQL, Oracle, and the Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, MapReduce) is required, alongside experience with Apache Spark for distributed data processing and AWS Data Bricks. Familiarity with SQL-based analytics on big data, software architecture, system design, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and CI/CD/DevOps practices is also expected. An overall experience of 10 to 15 years is necessary for this role.
