As a Software Engineering Manager, you will be instrumental in providing exceptional application development and design support for all digital projects within Digital Consumer Solutions. Your responsibilities include developing application code and unit tests using technologies such as Angular, Rest Web Services, SpringBoot, and Java. You will lead the development of user interfaces for modern, rich internet applications utilizing the latest NodeJS-based front-end technologies like Stencil, Angular, React, or Vue.
This position involves performing product analysis and development tasks of increasing complexity, often requiring extensive research. You will ensure the delivery of high-performance applications that are both secure and scalable. A key aspect of this role is leading the design and development of microservices built with Spring-boot on the Cloud. You will also integrate content feeds via APIs, JSON, XML, and RSS from various internal and external sources. Documenting application components for support and training materials is also a crucial part of this role, ensuring adherence to Mastercard's quality assurance processes.
We seek a candidate with strong expertise in technologies such as Angular, Rest Web Services, SpringBoot, and Java, alongside experience with modern front-end frameworks like NodeJS, Stencil, React, or Vue. Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with the ability to write cross-browser compatible code, is essential. A good understanding of AJAX and JavaScript DOM manipulation techniques, along with experience in RESTful services, is required.
Experience in designing and developing microservices using Spring-boot on the Cloud is a must. The ability to integrate content feeds via API, JSON, XML, and RSS is also necessary. While hands-on design and development experience on Cloud platforms is expected, exposure to Pivotal Cloud Foundry will be considered an added advantage. Familiarity with JavaScript build tools like Grunt or Gulp, testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Jest, Jasmine), and test runner frameworks like Karma is beneficial.
Crucially, you need strong knowledge in at least one of the mentioned technology skills, with sufficient exposure to others to enable on-the-job learning and scaling into a full-stack developer role. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with strong relationship-building, collaborative, and organizational abilities, are vital. The capacity to thrive as a member of a matrix-based, diverse, and geographically distributed project team is also important. Demonstrating strong ethics and values to foster high team trust is paramount.
