Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals in the development and delivery of high-quality software solutions, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution.
Establish and monitor departmental and staff objectives, aligning them with broader department strategies. Drive the definition, development, and delivery of significant cross-departmental initiatives with long-term business implications.
Partner with business stakeholders to identify innovative solutions and influence strategic decisions, developing business cases that align with Mastercard's objectives. Foster a culture of innovation and creative problem-solving, presenting recommendations to senior management and stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making.
Provide strategic recommendations to senior management regarding technology selection and the department's technical direction. Implement processes and supporting tools to meet evolving organizational needs, identify process gaps, and manage project scope effectively throughout its lifecycle.
Ensure adequate staffing, training, and management for all projects, verifying personnel possess the appropriate skills and behaviors. Communicate performance results effectively and manage efforts within approved manpower and budget guidelines, while overseeing strategic and financial planning for the department.
Possess 5-8 years of relevant experience, including demonstrable management experience leading diverse teams and conducting formal performance reviews. Experience in managing financials for multiple projects and programs is essential.
Exhibit advanced knowledge of Project Management, Strategic Planning, and a foundational understanding of finance. A deep understanding of Software Engineering Concepts and Methodologies, with experience in methodologies, is highly desirable.
Key technical skills include a strong background in backend technologies such as Java/Spring Boot, Go, or C++. Experience with microservices, REST APIs, and event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, NATS) is crucial. Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins), containerization (Docker), and Kubernetes or cloud-native platforms is required.
Demonstrate the ability to assist in policy development and establish plans. Strong management skills are necessary to coach colleagues, supported by excellent verbal and written communication abilities. The role requires the capacity for overall business or technical project planning for product enhancements.
