This Manager, Software Engineering role is based in our state-of-the-art technology hub, fostering a collaborative and Agile engineering culture. You will be instrumental in transforming the B2B space, standardizing, automating, and optimizing digital payment efficiency for buyers and sellers.

Lead and mentor 2+ engineering teams in the development, enhancement, and support of diverse applications and services. Collaborate with business and product owners to define and deliver new services and product bundles. Establish and continuously review team objectives and development plans. Recruit and onboard top talent, consistently aiming to elevate team capabilities. Foster continuous team improvement through regular 1-on-1s, understanding individual strengths, managing career development, and identifying at-risk employees. Possess extensive IT experience with a proven track record in managing small-scale development organizations (2+ teams), demonstrating thought leadership, cross-functional influence, and strong partnerships. Showcase progressive career growth with demonstrated experience in designing and developing applications using multiple programming languages, adhering to secure coding standards (e.g., OWASP, CWE, SEI CERT), and implementing effective vulnerability management strategies. Proficient in building applications with open frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, Steeltoe, Angular) to enhance reusability and accelerate development cycles. Strong understanding of operating system internals (Windows, Linux) for delivering interoperable and high-performance code. Skilled in debugging and troubleshooting, including analyzing core, heap, and thread dumps to resolve coding errors. Experienced in documenting and coaching teams on development practices and coding guidelines (e.g., branching, peer reviews, library usage, logging, scanning rules, test-driven development, error handling). Familiar with advanced design patterns (e.g., service-to-worker, MVC, API gateway, intercepting filter, dependency injection, lazy loading) for efficient code implementation. Capable of conducting technical code reviews across applications and dependencies to identify anti-patterns and promote continuous refactoring. Able to articulate and manage technical debt and operational issues to drive prioritization discussions with stakeholders, improving system run experience. Understand system architecture to plan for platform and infrastructure capacity (e.g., database, compute, network, storage) and prioritize dependencies to reduce delivery lead times. Skilled in understanding customer journeys to ensure a superior Mastercard experience by continuously reducing Mean Time To Mitigate (MTTM) for incidents and maintaining high availability (99.95%). Proficient in simplifying deployments and eliminating software and infrastructure inconsistencies using standardized platforms, ephemeral instances, and automation. Experienced in orchestrating release workflows and pipelines, applying standardized pipelines via APIs for CI/CD using industry-standard tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo, AWS/Azure pipelines, XL Release). Able to configure rules and build automation for code vulnerability scanning and software composition analysis using standard tools (e.g., Sonar, Checkmarx, Nexus, JFrog XRay, Veracode). Skilled in defining, organizing, and reporting on test runs for all release types (including unit, component, system, customer journeys, past issues, and regulatory controls). Conduct various performance tests (e.g., load, spike, breakpoint, endurance) to understand application/service limits and behaviors.
