As a Software Development Manager, you will lead high-caliber engineering teams in building and scaling world-class distributed systems. You'll drive technical and business strategy by contributing insightful perspectives to project priorities and approaches. Set the bar for engineering excellence, tackle complex technical challenges, and identify architectural deficiencies that might impede innovation.

Collaborate across the Prime Video organization to influence technical direction and enhance team productivity. This includes leading design reviews, participating in cross-organizational design discussions, providing thorough code reviews, and actively mentoring engineers. You will also manage and execute against project plans within an Agile/Scrum framework, while owning all operational metrics and support for your team's software. Driving continuous improvements in software engineering practices across multiple teams will be a key aspect of your role.

We are seeking experienced leaders with a strong background in software development and team management. A minimum of 7 years of engineering experience, including 3+ years in engineering team management, is required. You should also possess 8+ years of experience in defining and developing multi-tier web services.

A solid understanding of engineering practices across the full development lifecycle is essential, encompassing coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, certification, and live site operations. Proven experience partnering effectively with product or program management teams is also a prerequisite. Experience in communicating requirements, technical designs, and product strategy to users, technical teams, and senior leadership, along with a history of recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and managing software engineers to enhance their skills and effectiveness, are highly valued.
