This role focuses on managing critical cost and inventory accounting functions. Responsibilities include handling Purchase Price Variance (PPV), freight accruals, inventory reserves, and capitalized variances. The position also involves ensuring accurate COGS and inventory valuation through monthly close activities and thorough reconciliation processes.

Key aspects of the role involve maintaining precise item costing data, cost components, and associated GL mappings. This ensures compliance with US GAAP and internal company policies. The Manager will also oversee costing methodologies for various items and manage cost rollups and variance tracking.

A significant part of the job includes validating and cleansing master data, such as items, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and routings. This data integrity is crucial for reliable cost and inventory reporting. The role also entails developing and maintaining insightful reports and dashboards related to inventory health, gross margin, cost variances, and stockout situations.

Oversee cost and inventory activities, including PPV, freight accruals, and inventory reserves. Perform monthly close procedures for COGS and inventory valuation, reconciling sub-ledgers to the general ledger. Maintain accurate item costing data, cost components (material, labor, overhead), and GL mappings, ensuring US GAAP compliance. Manage costing methods for items (Standard, Actual, Moving Average) and configure cost rollups/variance tracking. Validate and cleanse master data (items, BOMs, routings, suppliers) for accurate cost and inventory reporting. Develop and maintain reports/dashboards on inventory health, gross margin, cost variances, and stockouts. Analyze inventory valuation and cost components to identify optimization and cost control opportunities. Support internal and external audits by providing necessary data and process explanations. Collaborate with IT/Analytics on data models, data quality, and BI/reporting requirements. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for inventory and cost accounts.

Proven experience in cost and inventory accounting functions is essential. Strong understanding of Purchase Price Variance (PPV), freight accruals, and inventory reserves. Proficiency in performing monthly close activities for COGS and inventory valuation. Expertise in reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger and analyzing variances. Knowledge of US GAAP and internal company accounting policies. Experience with various costing methods (Standard, Actual, Moving Average). Skill in validating and cleansing master data, including items, BOMs, and routings. Ability to develop and maintain financial reports and dashboards.
