This role is pivotal for modernizing and supporting critical applications within regulated sectors like banking and insurance. We are looking for a Senior Mainframe Developer/Technical Architect with deep knowledge of IBM Mainframe technologies and legacy data platforms. Your expertise will be crucial in application analysis, migration, production support, and modernization programs, ensuring both operational stability and successful transformation.

Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade mainframe applications using PL/I, COBOL, JCL, CICS, and IBM z/OS. You will support both online and batch processing, conduct code analysis, debugging, and performance tuning. A significant part of the role involves analyzing legacy applications and data architectures to support modernization and migration, including reverse engineering and Datacom-to-VSAM migrations. You will also produce low-level technical designs, create dependency maps, and collaborate on modernization strategies. Extensive work with VSAM datasets and databases like Datacom and DB2 is expected, along with data analysis and optimization. Testing, release management, and ensuring compliance with change management processes are also core duties. Effective collaboration with business analysts, architects, QA, and production support teams is essential.

We require a strong background in Mainframe Technologies, including extensive hands-on experience with PL/I, COBOL, JCL, CICS, and IBM z/OS environments, supporting both batch and online transaction processing. Expertise in Data Platforms such as VSAM (KSDS, ESDS, RRDS), Datacom/Broadcom Datacom, and IBM DB2 is essential. Engineering skills must encompass legacy code analysis, reverse engineering, application dependency mapping, data-flow analysis, technical design, performance analysis, and defect resolution. Experience in delivery and support functions like requirements analysis, low-level design documentation, SIT/UAT support, production support, and release implementation is expected. Preferred experience includes Datacom-to-VSAM migration programs, legacy database modernization, high-volume batch processing, and working within banking or other highly regulated industries.
