We are seeking a skilled PostgreSQL DBA to manage and support PostgreSQL environments, with a focus on Crunchy. This role is crucial for ensuring database security, availability, and performance, while also supporting engineering teams in feature development and infrastructure automation, particularly for core banking modernization.

This position operates within multi-cloud or hybrid environments, including AWS, Azure, and GCP. The ideal candidate will be adept at automating, maintaining, and providing Business-as-Usual (BAU) support.

Key responsibilities include delivering BAU PostgreSQL support, maintaining and optimizing environments to meet SLAs, and ensuring high availability, reliability, and disaster recovery readiness. The role involves building and deploying cloud infrastructure using Ansible, designing and maintaining cloud environments, and developing automation tools for PostgreSQL.

Additional duties encompass performing patching and upgrades for databases and clustering software (Patroni), managing backups with pgbackrest, and handling recovery operations. Effective incident and ticket management, alongside collaboration within an agile framework, is essential.

A minimum of 5 years of experience with PostgreSQL is required, demonstrating expertise in administration, performance tuning, and core concepts. Hands-on experience with clustered PostgreSQL databases, specifically Patroni, is essential.

Proficiency in Ansible for configuration management and automation is necessary, along with well-developed Bash Shell scripting skills and strong Unix/Linux capabilities. Experience with pgbackrest for PostgreSQL database backups is also a requirement.

Experience with Crunchy PostgreSQL and Crunchy Automation is highly advantageous. Exposure to innovative database solutions like FOAK is considered a significant plus.
