This Hybrid Cloud Database Administrator Manager role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and contribute to a dynamic hybrid cloud engineering environment. We are seeking an experienced professional to manage database infrastructure, oversee critical projects, and mentor team members. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of cloud platforms and database technologies, with a proven ability to deliver robust and efficient solutions.

Provide comprehensive 24/7 database support, managing incidents, requests, and changes. Automate routine tasks like patch deployments and installations. Design and develop scalable database architectures, recommending hardware and network solutions. Optimize data storage and retrieval for enhanced performance.

Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance. Collaborate with developers and administrators to improve database operations. Utilize performance monitoring tools to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Contribute to ticket reduction through effective problem management.

Manage account-related tasks, including profile creation/deletion, and security parameter management. Possess strong knowledge of index defragmentation, re-indexing, and query tuning. Proficiently manage Disaster Recovery (DR) and resiliency strategies.

Troubleshoot complex performance problems, manage patching, upgrades, and migrations. Monitor and analyze performance using open-source tools. Optimize database interactions with application developers. Conduct Proof of Concepts (POCs) for new features and technologies.

Document database structures, policies, and procedures. Integrate with public cloud platforms and manage cloud-based database solutions. Oversee project execution to meet business needs and mentor team members. Manage migrations of various databases to PostgreSQL.

Demonstrate hands-on experience with database standards and end-user applications, particularly with PG versions 12 through 15. Possess excellent knowledge of PostgreSQL (PG) RDBMS architecture, design, backup, recovery (PITR), replication, and performance tuning concepts.

Experience in backup and recovery using PG_DUMP and PG_DUMPALL, and setting up WAL archiving. Familiarity with tools/extensions such as REPMGR, PGBACKREST, pg_repack, pg_crypto, pg_audit, Data Wrapper, and pg_bouncer is essential.

Strong understanding of configuration files like Pg_hba.Conf and Postgresql.Conf, including parameter values. Scripting skills using Ansible and Shell are required. Proficient in troubleshooting complex performance issues, managing patching, upgrades, and migrations, and performance analysis through open-source tools.

Experience handling Disaster Recovery tests and exercises. Certifications and experience managing RDS for PostgreSQL on AWS are highly valued. Experience in large-scale environments (1000+ databases) is preferred, as is working experience in the banking domain.

Expert knowledge of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Quality Management, CSI) is critical. Possess exceptional coordination, communication, and interpersonal skills for global collaboration. Demonstrate strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities, with crisis management skills.

Experience in automated operation environments and managing operations on core and cloud-based infrastructure. Experience with AaaS platforms is ideal. Knowledge of one of two public cloud platforms and integration designs from traditional environments is expected. Responsibilities include design implementation and management of cloud-based database solutions. Any Bachelor's Degree is required.
