Lead a dedicated team focused on developing critical components for distributed systems. This role involves translating strategic objectives into actionable 1-2 quarter execution plans. You will establish best practices for coding, testing, and scalability, while providing hands-on guidance for performance optimization and load testing.

Responsibilities include fostering the creation of fault-tolerant, in-service-upgradable components, emphasizing redundancy, replication, and failover. You'll ensure robust observability through comprehensive testing, alarm configurations, and dashboards. Operational readiness will be maintained via reviewed runbooks and standardized procedures.

This position also manages the delivery of scoped features, correctness testing (including fault-injection), and data replication/synchronization for integrity and availability. You will spearhead incident response, root-cause analysis, and advocate for no-customer-downtime practices, driving automation and IaC for efficient troubleshooting. Security implementation, including encryption and access controls, along with compliance documentation and change management for safe updates, falls under your purview.

Oversee the development of distributed system components, focusing on scalability and large-scale data processing. Guide the team in designing and implementing fault-tolerant systems, redundancy, replication, and failover mechanisms.

Ensure effective system reliability through comprehensive testing, alarming, dashboards, and telemetry. Drive the implementation of data replication and synchronization for high availability and integrity.

Lead incident response and troubleshooting efforts, emphasizing automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Manage security implementations, compliance, and change management processes for safe system updates and rollbacks.

Proven ability to translate goals into execution plans and set technical best practices. Experience guiding teams in building fault-tolerant, scalable, and reliable distributed systems.

Expertise in performance tuning, load testing, and implementing resiliency patterns like retries and circuit breakers is essential. Strong understanding of observability, monitoring, and operational readiness procedures.

Demonstrated leadership in incident management, root-cause analysis, and security implementation within cloud environments. Experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is highly desirable.
