Our team specializes in constructing and emitting high-performance GPU machine instructions for graphics (OpenGL, Vulkan, DX) and compute (CUDA, PTX, OpenCL, Fortran, C++). We are a global collective of leading compiler engineering experts, dedicated to delivering advanced performance and capabilities for NVIDIA's sophisticated parallel SIMT architectures.
In this pivotal position, you will tackle critical issues alongside a brilliant engineering team with deep expertise in compiler technology and systems software. Your work will directly impact every GPU and SoC product that NVIDIA produces, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to a truly impactful organization.
Lead a distributed team of compiler engineers in the development of compilers for next-generation GPU architectures.
Enhance code generation for key applications that benefit from NVIDIA GPU acceleration.
Establish team objectives, manage schedules, and define policies and procedures. Communicate team vision and development progress to senior management.
Collaborate with diverse software and hardware architecture teams to advance next-generation GPU software.
Oversee efforts including performance tuning and analysis, designing and implementing compiler and optimization techniques, and general software engineering work.
Mentor and coach engineers, fostering a positive and high-performing team environment. Shape team culture and norms in alignment with NVIDIA's values, identify and address team development gaps, and improve development practices and collaboration both internally and externally.
Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field is required.
Possess 8+ years of experience in production compiler development, with a focus on compiler infrastructure, language frontends, or optimizing backends.
Have 3+ years of experience in a technical lead or management capacity, with a demonstrable history of delivering high-quality products on time.
Exhibit strong software design fundamentals and a comprehensive understanding of compilers and programming languages.
Stand out with in-depth knowledge of processor architectures like GPU, RISC-V, ARM, or x86.
Experience with compiler infrastructures such as LLVM, Clang, or the GNU Toolchain is highly valued.
Familiarity with compiler internals, from the front-end to the run-time environment, is a significant advantage.
Experience in embedded toolchain development is also beneficial.
