This role is crucial for driving our Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) program in India, ensuring accurate coding and robust patient care documentation.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the CDI workflow with the CDI program lead in India, supporting staff training and orientation.

Conduct chart, quality, and KPI audits, ensuring adequate staffing and providing assistance during peak workloads. Develop physician teaching materials and presentations as needed, and assist with project-related tasks.

Approve time cards, conduct regular team evaluations to maintain quality, and communicate leadership expectations to CDI staff. Oversee expert-level review of inpatient clinical records within 24-48 hours of admission.

Identify documentation gaps for accurate code assignment, ensuring documentation reflects patient condition severity and acuity. Provide daily follow-up communication with providers for clarification and support overall documentation improvement.

Ensure effective utilization of CDI tools, using approved forms for physician queries. Foster collaborative relationships with Medical Coding Professionals and monitor retrospective query rates. Engage with domestic team partners for issue resolution and actively collaborate with Quality Management teams.

Qualifications

A medical degree (MBBS or equivalent from India or abroad) is required, along with at least one year of experience in the US healthcare sector.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, along with other work-related software, is essential. Experience with project management and strong organizational skills are highly valued for success in this role.
