This role focuses on General Insurance within the domestic and global markets, specifically in Business Consulting Risk through Actuarial services.
Execute projects within the Actuarial domain, supporting client engagements in areas such as reserving, product development, pricing, statutory reporting, solvency assessment, IFRS17 implementation, and business planning. Develop Excel models reflecting client product features and regulations. Conduct research on specialized topics like solvency II and IFRS17 to provide key client insights. Create compelling proposals for new engagements and contribute to the development of consistent standards and best practices. Share knowledge effectively, contribute to wider EY opportunities, and present technical specialist knowledge internally and externally.
Develop reports and client presentations. Assist in developing cutting-edge proposals to secure new business. Share expertise by submitting regular contributions to the knowledge database. Participate in wider EY initiatives and enhance external visibility, such as writing articles for 'The Actuary'. Maintain and enhance deep technical knowledge, particularly in Excel modeling. Present specialized technical knowledge internally and externally.
We seek experienced Actuaries with a background in the Indian or global insurance market. Candidates should demonstrate a proven ability to manage competing demands and meet deadlines with high quality. A minimum of 6 months' hands-on experience in General Insurance (Actuarial domain) and completion of at least 4 actuarial exams are required. Essential qualities include the ability to provide and receive constructive feedback, self-motivation, initiative, and an outcome-focused approach. Comfort in dealing with uncertainty and ambiguity, alongside good working knowledge of relevant actuarial concepts and methodologies, is crucial.
Familiarity with tools like R, Python, SAS, or SQL is beneficial. Knowledge of the IFRS17 accounting standard is important. Confidence in presenting views across various platforms, including publications and seminars, is expected. Strong communication, documentation, facilitation, relationship-building, presentation, and negotiation skills are vital. Candidates should be highly flexible, adaptable, and creative, possessing broad consulting and project management skills. A practical approach to problem-solving, delivering insightful and practical solutions, and an agile, curious, and mindful mindset are highly valued. The role requires collaboration across multiple client departments while adhering to commercial and legal requirements.
