This role is for an experienced Senior SDET with a strong background in Java-based API automation and a deep understanding of API engineering principles. We seek individuals who excel in testing microservices-driven systems within the retail banking sector, going beyond script execution to ensure comprehensive quality outcomes.

As a Senior SDET, you will play a crucial role in validating end-to-end service interactions and integrations. You will be instrumental in integrating automation frameworks into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins and GitHub Actions. Your responsibilities will include performing thorough root cause analysis, participating actively in defect triage, and collaborating closely with backend, payments, cloud, and product teams.

Furthermore, you will contribute significantly to test strategy, planning, and execution. A key aspect of this role involves continuously improving automation coverage and upholding high-quality practices across all testing efforts.

We require 8+ years of dedicated experience in SDET or QA Automation roles, with mandatory strong programming expertise in Java. Essential hands-on experience includes API automation tools such as REST Assured (primary), with Postman/Newman being supporting skills. Experience testing API-first and microservices architectures is critical.

Demonstrate a strong understanding of service contracts, mocking and stubbing, JSON/XML validation, API schema validation, and integration testing patterns. Domain exposure to Retail Banking, specifically in areas like accounts, payments, cards, onboarding, and transactions, is a must. Proficiency with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Git, and Maven/Gradle, along with strong debugging skills in Linux environments using logs and backend tracing, is also required. A solid grasp of API fundamentals, including endpoints, payloads, status codes, and authentication, is expected.
