This Manager role within the National Assurance team, specifically in the FAAS - Financial & Accounting Advisory Services unit based in Chennai, offers a well-rounded experience across various industries. Our service offerings include External Audit, Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS), IFRS & US GAAP conversion, IPO and other public offerings, and Corporate Treasury - IFRS 9 accounting and implementation support. We assist clients by ensuring their accounts comply with requisite audit standards, providing clear perspectives to audit committees, and delivering critical information to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Drive technical excellence in fund financial statements preparation and review under IFRS/Ind AS or US GAAP for Private Markets (credit, equity, real estate, public funds, wealth management). You will be responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of month-end P&L and NAV, along with preparing NAV packs, board packs, and investor allocations. Leverage experience in fund accounting using platforms like Yardi, Investran, or LemonEdge, and utilize SQL, Python, Alteryx, Anaplan, Confluence, and JIRA. Apply strong functional domain experience in private markets, assisting with data migration and transformation as a techno-functional fund accounting BA. Your core capabilities will include requirements gathering, gap analysis, process mapping, leading business testing, and maintaining robust documentation within an Agile environment.

Key responsibilities also involve booking daily journal entries, calculating management fees and accrued expenses, valuing investments, preparing financial and investor reports, and handling ad hoc reporting. A strong understanding of real estate accounting principles under IFRS and US GAAP is essential. You will finalize and consolidate books of accounts for subsidiaries, SPVs, and property companies, including scrutiny and analysis of ledgers. Processing capital calls, distributions, and waterfall distributions is a significant part of the role. Ability to collaborate within a virtual global team and manage cross-border relationships is crucial.

Ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial transaction recording according to GAAP standards. Perform middle office functions such as P&L analysis, daily cash projections, calculating FX transfers, and processing client contributions and redemptions. Review general ledger exceptions, identify causes, and implement necessary adjustments. Accrue daily or monthly non-security related items, including management and financing accruals. Conduct daily and monthly securities pricing analysis. Regularly review and test control processes to ensure high-quality client service and create process checklists for completeness, accuracy, and timeliness. Interact with client service teams like fund administrators and valuation specialists to ensure smooth and timely communication of financial information.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should hold a Chartered Accountant or CPA qualification. Significant experience in Fund Accounting is a prerequisite.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for managing global teams and client relationships.
