This role is within the National Assurance ASU team, specializing in Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) for financial and accounting advancements. The Assurance division's purpose is to inspire confidence and trust in a complex world by upholding public interest, promoting transparency, and supporting economic growth. We assist clients by ensuring compliance with audit standards, providing clear perspectives to audit committees, and delivering critical information to stakeholders. Our service offerings encompass External Audit, FAAS, IFRS & US GAAP conversion, IPO support, and Corporate Treasury accounting.
Drive technical excellence through a deep understanding of IFRS, US GAAP, UK GAAP, and international auditing standards. Provide expert technical accounting advisory on complex topics such as business combinations, consolidations, shared-based payments, and financial instruments. Coordinate with on-shore teams to address accounting inquiries and research pronouncements. Take ownership of project management, ensuring seamless information flow and cross-functional team coordination. Manage all stages of accounting matters, from initial client engagement to audit completion. Develop and deliver compelling written and verbal communications, presentations, and technical documentation.
Conduct thorough research on client inquiries, emerging issues, regulations, and industry practices. Be flexible and prepared to travel on short notice as required. Gain working experience in accounting and regulatory support for accounting changes, special matters, and white paper development. Provide comprehensive technical accounting guidance to clients, addressing intricate issues and transactions. Analyze and document findings for accounting issues, proposing effective solutions. Prepare financial statements, including accounting policies and governance. Optimize accounting processes and provide robust audit support.
We are seeking accomplished professionals with a Chartered Accountant qualification. Candidates should possess extensive experience in an advisory capacity and demonstrate the ability to manage teams of 20 or more individuals. Advanced skills are required in technical accounting matters, including writing white papers on significant topics like consolidation and IFRS 15/16. Experience with GAAP conversions across various standards, including IFRS and US GAAP, is essential. Prior hands-on consulting experience with a Big 4 or top-tier consulting firm, serving as a lead for solutions or service lines, is highly valued.
Candidates should hold a Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA (US), or ACCA (UK) certification. A minimum of 10-12 years of post-qualification experience in Assurance is expected, with at least 3+ years specifically in Financial Accounting and Advisory Services. We look for individuals who can collaborate effectively, providing services across multiple client departments while adhering to commercial and legal mandates. A practical, problem-solving approach with the ability to deliver insightful and actionable solutions is crucial.
