This role is for a Manager within the National Assurance ASU - FAAS team, specializing in Financial & Accounting Advisory Services in Bangalore. National teams work across various sectors to provide a well-rounded experience. Assurance's purpose is to inspire confidence and trust, serving the public interest and nurturing future business leaders. We assist clients by ensuring account compliance with audit standards, providing clear perspectives to audit committees, and delivering critical information to stakeholders. Our services include External Audit, Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS), IFRS & US GAAP conversion, IPO support, and IFRS 9 accounting.

You will be responsible for providing technical excellence in accounting and audit matters. This includes offering expert advice on complex accounting topics like business combinations, consolidations, share-based payments, and financial instruments. You will coordinate with on-shore teams to research U.S. GAAP and IFRS pronouncements and manage projects, ensuring effective information flow and coordination among cross-functional finance teams.

Your role will involve working on diverse accounting issues throughout their lifecycle, from client pitches to audit closing. Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and technical writing skills are essential. You will research client inquiries, emerging issues, regulations, industry practices, and new technologies. Flexibility for short-notice travel is also required.

Key areas of work include accounting and regulatory support for accounting changes and special matters, white paper writing, providing comprehensive technical accounting guidance on complex transactions, and conducting research and analysis on accounting issues. You will also be involved in preparing financial statements, documenting accounting policies and governance, optimizing accounting processes, and providing audit support.

To qualify for this Manager position, you should be a Chartered Accountant. You should possess experience working in an advisory capacity and have managed teams of 20 or more individuals.

Advanced skills and experience in technical accounting matters, including authoring whitepapers on significant topics such as consolidation and lease accounting (IFRS 15, 16), are crucial. Experience with GAAP conversions across various standards, including IFRS and US GAAP, is required. Hands-on consulting experience, ideally from a Big 4 or top-tier consulting firm, where you led solutions or service lines, is highly valued.

We are looking for individuals with 10-12 years of post-qualification experience in Assurance, including at least 3 years of dedicated Financial Accounting and Advisory experience. Professional qualifications such as Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA (US), or ACCA (UK) are essential. You should be adept at working collaboratively, providing services across multiple client departments while adhering to commercial and legal requirements. A practical approach to problem-solving, delivering insightful and practical solutions, agility, curiosity, mindfulness, sustained positive energy, adaptability, and creativity are highly desired attributes.
