Responsibilities

This role involves advanced Linux administration, including deep expertise in RHEL, Ubuntu, SUSE, and Rocky Linux. You will be responsible for kernel tuning, performance optimization, system internals, and capacity planning. A key part of your role will be troubleshooting complex production issues and ensuring system reliability.

You will also lead automation efforts using Ansible, Puppet, or Chef, and develop reusable automation frameworks. Managing Linux workloads in cloud and hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) is crucial, along with experience in containers like Docker/Podman and orchestration with Kubernetes/OpenShift. Implementing proactive monitoring using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack is also a core responsibility.

Qualifications

A graduate degree (B. Tech/B.E./MCA or equivalent) and 8 to 10 years of experience in large-scale enterprise Linux/Unix system administration are required. Strong proficiency in Bash and Python scripting for automation is essential. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes is mandatory.

Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK/EFK stack is necessary. You should also possess a solid understanding of Linux security, hardening, and compliance standards. Experience with ITIL practices and leading major incident handling is expected. Knowledge of AIX/Solaris, CI/CD tools, and relevant certifications are considered advantageous.
