Job description

Join GE Healthcare as a Lead Systems Engineer, where you will drive the design, implementation, and maintenance of sophisticated medical imaging systems. This role is integral to ensuring the performance, reliability, and security of these critical systems. GE Healthcare is a global leader in medical technology and digital solutions, dedicated to improving lives through innovation. We foster an environment where every idea contributes to a healthier world.

Responsibilities

Take the lead in architecting, developing, and integrating advanced medical imaging solutions for Molecular Imaging systems. You will be responsible for system-level troubleshooting, detailed diagnostics, and identifying root causes for complex technical challenges. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, and quality assurance, is key to delivering high-quality products. Develop and deploy automation scripts for system deployment, monitoring, and maintenance. Define and document system architectures, specifications, and operational procedures. Provide essential technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards for medical devices. Participation in an on-call rotation for critical system support is also expected.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a STEM field is required, along with a minimum of 6 years of experience in system engineering, specifically with complex, high-reliability systems. Proficiency in operating systems like Linux and Windows, networking protocols, and virtualization technologies is essential. Strong programming skills in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash) and one compiled language (e.g., C++, Java) are necessary. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, is advantageous. Familiarity with medical imaging modalities (CT, MRI, X-ray) and industry standards (DICOM, HL7) is highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills are crucial for success in this role. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a diverse, global team is also important.
