This role is crucial in ensuring the reliability and performance of our satellite-based broadband services.
As a Support Engineer within our SATCOM Technical Support team, you will tackle complex satellite network challenges. This involves in-depth problem analysis, methodical troubleshooting, and restoring optimal service levels for escalated cases. You'll analyze performance data, including latency, jitter, and packet loss, and examine system configurations.
Your expertise will drive technical issues to resolution, collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will also develop and document technical solutions, enhance our knowledge base, and provide advanced technical guidance.
This position requires working rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, with on-call availability to guarantee continuous operational coverage. Note that export control regulations may apply to this position.
We are looking for candidates with at least 3 years of experience in systems administration, engineering, or IT/cloud operations support. Proficiency in SDWAN/SDN, including hands-on experience with design, deployment, and operations of technologies like Cisco Viptela, VMware VeloCloud, or Versa Networks is essential.
Candidates should possess professional certifications such as CCNP/CCIE/JNCIE or AWS Solutions Architect. A strong background in SDN controllers, orchestration, overlay/underlay architectures, and application-aware routing is required. Experience in NOC operations, including emergency response and on-call support, is vital, alongside 8+ years of extensive experience in ISP/Service Provider network architecture and operations for large-scale networks.
Preferred qualifications include Python programming skills for network automation, familiarity with JSON/YAML, REST APIs, and automation frameworks like Ansible and Terraform. AWS networking expertise, covering VPC, Direct Connect, and Transit Gateway, as well as hybrid cloud/on-premises integration, would be highly advantageous.
